Fats Waller, born May 21, 1904, was a keyboardist, composer, comedian and a great influence in the development of jazz piano. His compositions such as “Ain’t Misbehavin'”, “The Joint Is Jumpin'” and “Honeysuckle Rose” have become modern popular classics. Noted for his clowning during performances, he was a natural for the motion picture camera, and thanks to that, today we have lots of Fats in all his glory. Here he is from the movie, Stormy Weather.

Happy Birthday, Fats!
